Nine Sprinkles Club

The second rule about Nine Sprinkles Club is, YOU DON’T TALK ABOUT NINE SPRINKLES CLUB.

Why? Two reasons.

Firstly, it will probably result in a hundred or more people, lobbying to get a place in this group. Apologising for not sharing content, claiming there was a misunderstanding, and general whinging. We don’t have time for that shit.

Secondly because it’s no longer something freely available for everyone. It’s an invitation only thing that you have to EARN THE RIGHT to be a part of it. We tried the “we’ll just give away free booze and trust that all humans can be trusted and relied on” and it failed. It was an expensive failure.

The only way to depict the Friends of 9RD Group – a train wreck.

Going forward, perhaps this group will grow. But don’t bother to recommend, sponsor or nominate anyone. If they make the grade they will appear in our group, just like magic. If they don’t earn the right to be a part of it, then they will never, ever, know what they are missing.

The Backstory

Just in case any new folk end up joining this group at some point in the future, it’s probably worth laying down a backstory for context.

This group was formed on Friday 18th November 2022 when the old Friends of 9RD group was disbanded due to excessive piss taking. People taking all the deals, and not having the morals or the ethics to do the really simple, 2 minute job of sharing content. Some of them don’t even follow the 9RD WeChat official account. They have unsubscribed. I guess they don’t realise how easy it is to track these things……

An example of how we track followers on WeChat. Some of the tracking tags on the right, with just a handful of the users that are contacts of Jay, that followed, unfollowed, and then came back to follow again. THAT’S how granular we are with tracking….

Under normal circumstances, these vile, disgusting, hollow, soulless thieves should be named and shamed. But we have to do things professionally to protect the name and reputation of 9RD, hence the disbanding of the old group, and the formation of this new group.

The Rules

Really really simple.

Share our content once a week when it goes out. WeChat, LinkedIn and Facebook are the three main platforms. LinkedIn is currently the priority, so if you can only share on one platform, please focus on LinkedIn. If you can only do WeChat, then do WeChat. But at least do one of the three. Then take the booze deals.

Why LinkedIn

LinkedIn is our primary focus because it gives us International exposure at a professional level. Yes, there are much bigger platforms on social media, and some will often achieve a gazillion page views. However, we need QUALITY interactions and not just QUANTITY. Besides, most of those high user platforms (TikTok/Douyin, Instagram and a whole list of others) typically have a much younger (age) user base.

As an alcohol company, we have a moral obligation (even if it is legal, and in many countries it is) to avoid those platforms where teenagers and even younger children can be exposed to our brand. LinkedIn is (frankly) far too boring for youngsters. It’s a professional networking platform, so we feel more confident to invest time into developing our brand there, without the risks of high exposure to children.

The Extra Mile(s)

If you feel the urge to go the extra mile, and by mile, here are some things that can benefit us as 9RD and you too as a professional.

3 Minutes A Day

  • Get onto LinkedIn once a day
  • Add 10-15 new contacts each day.
  • Focus on new contacts within your own industry (because then they are useful to you in your career – LinkedIn is HUGE for recruitment. All the top headhunters use it to source candidates as well as all the big recruitment agencies)
Click on MY NETWORK on LinkedIn and it will even recommend people to add. Scroll down the page, and it will show you people from your industry to add.

5 Minutes A Week

We post content once a week, so:

  • Like our post.
  • Comment on our post.
  • Like everyone else’s comment on our post.
  • Share our post, but use “share with your thoughts” and add a comment when you share.
See the “LIKE” on the comments. Click on all of them. It really makes a difference.

If just 20 to 30 people all do this within the same 20 minutes, we can create a “Content Trend” where our content will be shown to thousands of other people. If 50 people do this within 2 hours, it has the same effect. We’ve been studying how it works.

5 Minutes A Month

Once a month, use your 30 or 50 invites and invite them to follow our page on LinkedIn.

Invites create followers and we are aiming for 5000 followers before the end of 2022. Tiny numbers when compared to other platforms. Every time 100 people are invited, we normally get 6 followers. 6% is our current average. We need about 800 more followers in about 6 weeks. Do the maths. On a 6% success rate, we need 13333 invites to be sent out.

You can go to the 9RD LinkedIn Page and click “More” and then “Invite Connections” or you might just see an Invite button. Remember to go back at the end of the month and use up any credits that refreshed from your contacts accepting the invitation.

Monthly Audit

As pathetic as it is to have to say this, there will be a random monthly audit. 10 people will be picked from this group, and a comparison will be made between their deals purchased and their content shared.

There will be no public humiliation (however deserved). You will simply be removed, without warning. No debate. No discussion. No trial by fire. Just removed. Case closed.

Wiggle Room (and lack of it)

Posting a few days late (a few being defined as somewhere between 1 and 3) will not be penalised. We all have personal lives, jobs, commitments, and emergencies.

The old “I hide my moments from you all because it’s personal and private” doesn’t really carry any weight.

Just 3 of the 22 people who thought this would “fly”. This is the screen you see when they block their moments. We’ve saved your shame. We’ve blanked you out.

The whole point of sharing is so that anyone and everyone that has you as a contact can see the content. Locking down your WeChat moments so no one can see your finger painting and knitted tablecloths might save you from the shame of people yelling “oi, aint you that finger painting weirdo” in the street, but it doesn’t help 9RD build brand awareness.

Finally, in Conclusion

If you’re reading this, then you’re already a member of a pretty special group. Well done. A huge thank you for supporting our project. Keep it up.

  1. That is really a good and precise description of what is expected and I will continue to support for sure – but not to get better deals – but to get our wonderful project 9RD to become the most successful project in the industry πŸ™‚
