The Nine Rivers Distillery New Year Extravaganza

This is where we will have all the blurb about the event, time, date, details, agenda, and eventually the link to the teams call.

Introduction

With so many people involved now, and so much information being shared in the investors group, we thought it would make sense to setup something that resembles an annual update call with you all.

Time, Date and Connection Details

Wednesday 7th February 2024, at 8pm China time.

We know that this won’t be perfect for everyone. Our apologies to those that it doesn’t work for, but our priorities were to find a slot that works for China, the UK and the USA.

Your Hosts For The Evening

Joy Tan

Bringing some class and elegance to the evening.

Stephen Davies

Ensuring we all behave, as the designated responsible adult of our group.

Jeff Olyniec

Standing by with his calculator and at least 19 spreadsheets in case any questions come up about numbers.

Tim Shaver

Standing by with his microphone and Guitar Dave, just in case we finish the call early enough for some Hill Billy Hollerin’

Daniel Liang

Standing by to provide backing vocals to Tim.

Jan Broni

Probably not standing as he’s just had some new knees installed.

Jay Robertson

Tied up, bound and gagged, and kept in a gimp box for the evening to stop him from having (another) rant about social media.

Stuart Macpherson

Dialling in during working hours, so (probably) the only sober person on the call.

Neil Playfoot

TBC – he’s only allowed to join the call if he can get his hands on a bottle of whisky in time. Craft beer is obviously banned from an event as special as this.

Agenda

1. Introductions

Literally a 60 second bit of blurb from each of the board members and board advisors, to ensure you all know who we are, what we do, and what we bring to leading your project and your investment.

2. The Nine Rivers Distillery Vision

While most of you know what our vision is, it’s worthwhile having a quick recap on this, especially for the investors that have joined us more recently.

3. What Have We Achieved So Far

A chance for us all to hear some of the key highlights of what we have achieved, and be proud of that too! It’s easy to lose track of everything we have done over these last few years.

4. What Are The Next Challenges We Face

Over these next few months and until the end of 2024, let’s talk through what we have coming up and are the immediate, medium term, and longer term challenges.

5. The 9RD Time Capsule

An amazing piece of work undertaken by our very own Chris Gassner, at his own initiative and at his own time and expense. We think that this is something really special and we’d like to share it with you all, and give Chris the recognition that he deserves.

6. The Education Collaboration

We are now into our third year of working with the China Hong Kong University in Shenzhen, with some content published about it this week. Phill Stout is going to tell you all about it (because Jay is too shy).

7. Whisky Networking Events

Legacy investors will already know about the monthly events. They are the catalyst for our entire project. However, some of the newer people might not be aware of them so we want to tell everyone about them, and also explain why in 2024 they are more important than ever. So we’ll introduce you all to the event managers for each city, and our new Director of Events.

8. 1000 Strong – Our 2024 Strategy for Growth

With a new year, comes new and exciting things! This is where Joy will introduce her new and amazing strategy to help us build on our success so far, and take it to the next level!

9. Your Questions, Comments and Suggestions

This is where we will try and cover as many of your questions, comments and suggestions as possible.

The 2024 Awards

We will be giving out awards at the end of the session. Categories will include the best questions sent in for this call, the best suggestion made for something to cover on this call, the 9RD Cocktail Competition (see below) plus lots of other secret things that you won’t know about unless…..YOU’RE ON THE CALL!

How The Call Will Work

It will be a live video call, hosted on Microsoft Teams. You can either download the app for your smart phone or your computer. Either version should work find for everyone all over the world, and there should not be any need for a VPN.

We use Microsoft Teams for our Board Calls and have done for a couple of years, with almost no issues. An occasional connection issue that is quickly fixed by closing Teams and reconnecting. Please download Teams as soon as you can.

To keep this as streamlined and as effective as possible, the call organiser will set you all to mute by default to save it turning into the audio equivalent of a late night street market in an urban village on a weekend.

All confirmations of attendance, questions, suggestions and comments need to be SENT IN BEFORE THE CALL using the form below. If you can’t attend, then please, also use the form and let us know. You can give comments, suggestions, and even ask questions to specific people.

There will be concurrent interaction in a parallel WeChat group (NOT the Ambassador Investors Group). Any live feedback will be addressed if we can squeeze it in during the call.

Other Things To Note

  • The event will be hosted by Joy, so for those of you tired of Jay’s yakking, this will be music to your ears.
  • There will be hongbao’s a plenty being smashed out throughout the call, in the parallel group only. If you’re not on the call, then no hongbaos for you.
  • The RESPONSIBLE consumption of whisky during the call is actively encouraged – as long as its a 9RD bottle. Any other brands seen on camera will probably result in you being booted off the call. So if you are drinking tramp juice, keep it out of the vision of the rest of us.
  • The Best 9RD cocktail competition is pretty much what you would expect. Email in your best cocktail recipe that you have come up with, supported with a picture to prove you’ve actually made it, consumed it, and enjoyed it, and we’ll take a vote for the winner, live during the call.
  • Tim will be putting together one of his amazing Texas barbecues for this event. But, as it’s a video call, he’s just going to let us look at it remotely, as a form of Texan torture.
  • Despite this being a virtual call online, there is a formal dress code for the event – everyone must be clothed. Naked people will be ejected from the call. China has very strict laws about this.

Confidentiality Clause

Please note that this call is covered under the NCNDA that every shareholder has signed. There might be confidential things discussed on the call so please be aware of this and ensure that you are in a private place when you dial in.

If you don’t have access to a private place, then we would suggest that you use headphones to ensure that no one around you can hear what is said on our call.
